In our generation today, the world has projected and fed us with distorted ideas about morality. As a result, people now question their existence at every level.
Imagine a man thinking he is a woman. One thing the devil continually seeks to do is disrupt humanity from the original purpose for which God created man. He seeks to move people away from God's initial design, His original manuscript, and His image. This is what we call perversion.
One day during our family devotion, my father gave us an illustration about a pen (biro). I am privileged to have been born into a Christian home, and by God's grace, we have remained steadfast in the faith.
My father explained that when pens were originally manufactured, the color of the ink was reflected on the front and back covers. If the ink was blue, the cover would also be blue. This made it easy to identify the pen's content even before using it.
However, over time, manufacturers began producing blue-ink pens with different-colored covers. Some pens now have green covers while still containing blue ink.
This illustration struck me deeply because I realized it goes beyond pens. In an attempt to disrupt us from the image and original plan of God, the devil has introduced perversion into every sector of life. Men now dress like women, and women like men. The cover has changed color while the content remains what it was originally designed to be.
Who told you that you cannot stop stealing? Who told you that you cannot stop lying or living in immorality? It is the devil who corrupted the container long ago, making it difficult for the content to find expression.
Our flesh is the container; our spirit is the content. Your flesh may appear one way, while your spirit was originally designed differently. You may be rude, but your spirit was created to be meek. You may be constantly angry, yet your spirit was designed to be gentle.
The Bible says:
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." — Galatians 5:22–23 (KJV)
As long as the Spirit of Christ is not living within you and directing your life, the container will always take the lead. After all, it is the container that people see first. No one immediately sees the self-control that may exist in your spirit if the flesh remains uncontrolled.
People often judge by the container. Even if you are a blue pen, if your cover is red, people will naturally assume you are red until they experience what is inside.
The Apostle Paul expressed this struggle when he wrote:
"I'm a mystery to myself, for I want to do what is right, but end up doing what my moral instincts condemn." — Romans 7:15 (TPT)
The corrupted and perverted container continues to dominate while the spirit struggles to find expression.
The Bible further says:
"For when you live controlled by the flesh, you are about to die. But if the life of the Spirit puts to death the corrupt ways of the flesh, we then taste His abundant life." — Romans 8:13 (TPT)
If we allow ourselves to be controlled by the flesh, spiritual death becomes inevitable. But through the Spirit, we can put to death the desires of the flesh.
Anything that tells you that you are a failure, or that you are not who God created you to be, is not from God. The devil's strategy has always been to pervert everything God created and declared good.
The Solution to Remaining in Your Original Existence
The fundamental solution is to be born again by accepting Jesus Christ into your life. The flesh—the container—has already been corrupted by sin. Therefore, it needs to be renewed, repackaged, and transformed by God.
The Bible says:
"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith." — 1 John 5:4 (NKJV)
The moment you are born again, you receive the ability to rise above sin and overcome the perversions of this world. You are given the right to walk in the new nature that God has provided through Christ.
Being born again allows your spirit man to be energized by the Spirit of God, thereby giving you the capacity to live in the image of God in which you were created and to put to death the works of the flesh.
Romans 8:11 (NKJV)
“[11] But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
The reason your mortal body must be quickened is so you can live according to your true existence and walk in your true nature.
Being born again requires that your flesh dies and the Spirit of God comes in to quicken what was dead, so that you may live again—not in sin, but for God.
Romans 8:10 (NKJV)
“[10] And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”
When Christ comes into you, your body becomes dead because of sin, but it is made alive by the Spirit of God, who raises you from death to sin into righteousness.
The question remains: Who perverted your existence?
The answer is simple: sin corrupted the container, but Christ came to restore the original design.
